HERMIT COOKIES DIABETIC Recipe

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup shortening
  • ½ cup brown sugar substitute
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. clove ground
  • 1/3 cup 1% milk
  • 1 cup raisins
  • ¾ cup walnuts chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven at 350
  2. Grease cookie sheets.
  3. Cream together shortening and brown sugar substitute. Add eggs, until light and fluffy.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, nutmeg and cloves to the shortening mixture; mix well.
  5. Fold in raisins and Walnuts.
  6. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets about 2 – 3 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the upper third oven shelf at 350 for 12 – 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
  8. NOTE: A diabetic recipe modified from the triditional. This is my recipe.
